Applications

By means of electrically conductive ink it is possible to store additional information on paper products in the form of a data memory. The reading of the data is realized, through capacitive coupling without direct contact. This technology is usable for brand protection - or identification systems, as well as customer loyalty - and marketing campaigns, micropayment systems or games.

The first use finds this technology already in the ID Cards of CROSSLINK.

ID Cards

ID Cards and ReaderThe ID-card connects the real and the virtual world by imprinted electronics. The data are read by a low-cost reading device plugged into the PC, after connecting (typically via USB port) the reader is ready for the usage, there is no further down-load or installation needed. The ID-card has to be placed into a card-reader device to be read. The size of the standard ID card is 86 x 54 mm. The storage capacity of the GEN1 card is 16 bit and is up to 96 bits for GEN2.

Paper Keyboards/Pads

Printed Keyboard with Printacarb alphaOrdinary keyboards are based on mechanical elements and are costly to produce. They are often boring in design and inflexible in use. On the other hand access-print keyboards or pads are characterized by a freely bendable surface design, free format selection and a customized, user friendly keyboard layout. Paper-made keyboards can be produced in large numbers at reasonable prices. The standard size of keyboards or paper pads is DIN A4, but customized sizes are also possible. They can be variously imprinted  and used on  both sides without any functionality drawbacks. On one end a specific connector with cable is required to connect the keyboard to a computer, console, mobile phone, PDA or similar electronic devices. On the other end USB plug or radio (e.g. Bluetooth) is typically used. Up to 36 buttons keyboards are realizable at the moment; the position of the buttons is customizable.
